An Entertaining Evening of Oral History

Station Road, Bardon Mill circa 1905, Looking North from the Station

[May 15th 2008 - Oral History] Dr Ian Roberts enthralled us for over two and a half hours with his own experiences and approach on how to record those precious memories before they are lost. Filled with personal anecdotes and recordings of actual interviews, those present gathered some excellent tips on setting up and going abut the capture of an oral history project. Required equipment, methods and direct experience of how to (and how not to) approach this kind of historic recording were all discussed with plenty of audience questions and excellent answers. "I was glued to my seat and learned so much - I can't wait to get started". Many thanks to all those helping get this evening set up and particularly to Dr Roberts for his experience, enthusiasm, expertise and entertainment!
